Wakayama Lion is one of the cases of Alien Big Cats reported from Wakayama, Japan.

In January 1971, in Shinwakanoura, Wakayama Prefecture, a police officer was strolling through a wooded area by the sea nearby after lunch when he saw a large cat-like beast that looked like a lioness or puma on a rock.
The sighting is said to have lasted until 1972, but few other written sightings of Wakayama lions are known. One theory is that the Kyoto lion sighting in May 1972 occurred in Wakayama, not Kyoto, and is considered one of the cases of Wakayama lions.
