Sipatahunan cave horse serpent, also known by
local name ular kuda gua Sipatahunan, is a dragon-like cryptid from Bogor, Indonesia. It is a four-limbed creature with head shaped like a horse’s head. The creature resides in a cave named Sipatahunan cave, located in westernmost area of Bogor.
Description
Not much is known about the physical appearance of this creature. Record of its existence only available from the locals. It has 4 limbs, but no wings; this is what makes it different from Mount Kancing dragon. Horse-shaped head is common from any dragon description elsewhere.
Evidence
Jejak-Jejak Misterius (Misterious Tracks) team did an expedition to the cave back in 2014. Apparently the cave is about 3 meters high and wide. The length of the cave is estimated to be around 600 meters (note that the team did not reach the end of the cave). Sipatahunan cave is dangerous place, it will flood when rain comes. It also has a stream of water source flowing inside. The team failed to find concrete evidence of the creature, but the team did hear strange noises and noise of something walking, away from the team. The team tried to chase the noise, apparently leading to the entrance. In the entrance, the team found some fresh, wet tracks of an animal. It is concluded that whatever make the noise and tracks, it must have gone, away from the cave.
Explanation
- Because of the scarcity of evidence, it’s hard to conclude what type of creature this thing is. If accounts of locals were true, it might be real, living 4-limbed terrestrial dragon.
- This creature might be a kind of water monitor, owing the condition of the cave.
- The reptilian appearance and horse-like head might indicate it’s a living dinosaur-type cryptid. Dinosaur with horse-like head is usually a member of ornithischia order, for example Heterodontosaurus, Iguanodon, and Camptosaurus.
