In Philippine mythology, the Segben is a flesh-eating creature that can kill by a mere touch of its tongue.

Except for its large round ears, it has an ambiguous appearance. People have problems identifying which end is the head and which is the tail as they can run fast either forward or backwards.
The Segben attacks its victims by jumping on them. Once it licks its victims, or at the touch of its tongue on their skin, the Segben's victims die and it proceeds to eat them. People hear the ears of the Segben flapping as it approaches. As a deterrent, they carry spices and sharp knives which keeps the Segben away.
