The Quibungo is a monster legend used to scare children when then behave badly. It is some sort of Brazilian bogeyman. It's histories in general include songs. In Congo and Angola Quibungo means “wolf”, but it can be interpreted as “robber” or “invader”. They say that the creature is half man half beast, has a large head and a hole in its back. The hole (or mouth) opens when when it lowers its head, and with it, it devours the children. It prefers to kill children and small animals. It is also said that the Quibungo can be killed or defeated by any weapon, and that it dies screaming, and is very cowardly.
