Painting of Pingsie
The Pingsie (ピンシー) or Ping River Monster is a cryptid that was reported from Ping River, Thailand.
Description[]
According to zoologist Tadaaki Imaizumi in his book on cryptids, there was a monster sighting on the Ping River in May 1980. One day, a fisherman went fishing in the river and found 17 mysterious eggs the size of watermelons. Of these eggs, the broken ones gave off a foul odor.
The next night, a roar was heard from the river and two huge monsters the height of palm trees appeared. They were black-bodied, snake-like, and had crests on their heads. According to another source, this sighting occurred the same day the eggs were discovered.
The local newspaper referred to them as Pingsie.
