Pająk Pół Kilo

Pająk Pół Kilo (literally "Half Kilogram Spider") is a Polish giant spider cryptid from the village of Skrzyńsko.

Description

According to the legend, in the church of the village of Skrzyńsko in Masovian Voivodeship there once lived a regular spider who was allowed to live in the church's attic until it became giant.

The spider would drool venom onto the food of the priests' dining table (in some versions by sitting on the ceiling, in others by peeking through a hole in the ceiling), slowly killing them one after another. It took a long while until it was discovered, with up to five priests dying before the Skrzyńsko townsfolk got suspicious and started investigating.

Eventually, the spider was killed by them, it grew to such a size that four men were required to move its corpse. The story served as a cautionary tale that warns against keeping spiders around the house.

Pająk Pół Kilo was featured in his own Dungeons & Dragons campaign, called "Mystery of the White Church."
