Hypolagus, prototype of Nhisi
The undeciphered animal called Nchisi by the natives, found by missionary Clinton Boon in Lower Congo in his Congo as I saw (1927).
Description[]
As described by local natives, the animal has a structure of a strange species that looks like a cross between a rat and an old hare. In the publication of H.M. Stationery Office from 1944, Fri. The Belgian Congo reports that a hare species has been discovered in the Lower Congo region. Perhaps this is the indigenous Nchisi (Pietrzak, 2018).
