The Kumamoto Ape Footprints are cryptid traces reported from Kumamoto, Japan.

On August 8, 1995, a Canadian ornithologist visiting Kumamoto Prefecture for research discovered footprints 40 cm long and 20 cm wide that appeared to be ape-like. The creature was estimated to be bipedal and over 2 meters tall. The footprints were photographed and published in a newspaper. On the other hand, this story is almost unknown in Japan.
An erect, hairy humanoid of 4 meters tall, called the Beastman of Tonkararin, has been reported from the same Kumamoto Prefecture, so it may be the same species or a close relative.
