The Karuizawa Giant Lizard is a reptile cryptid reported from Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
Sightings and Reports[]
According to a report received by cryptid researcher Takeshi Nakazawa, the witnesses, a wealthy family of four, were visiting their vacation home in Karuizawa when one night they saw a strange creature.
It was a reptile-like creature over two meters long, with only two legs, covered with fish-like scales all over its body, and spines lining its back.
The family consists of parents, a son and a daughter, and three of them, except the son, witnessed this. They believed the creature to be extraterrestrial in origin, as many UFOs have been seen in the area.
Explanations[]
Upon receiving this report, cryptid researcher Takeshi Nakazawa conducted a field survey and discovered that since this is an environment that is not frequented by many people, it is possible for the 2-meter creature to live undetected.
He was also informed that wealthy individuals in the area kept large lizards in an environment that allowed them to move freely. For this reason, he also thought that the witness's family might have seen this lizard.
