Kai Kwai

The Kai Kwai is a marine cryptid reported from Hong Kong.

One night in March 1969, a group of students from the University of Hong Kong were playing on the beach when they heard what sounded like a baby crying. One of the group, Benjamin Chae, noticed this strange sound was coming from the sea. Looking out, he saw something enormous lifting its body out of the water about 20 yards (18 meters) offshore. It did not look like a fish, its eyes glowed green, and its total length appeared to be about 20 to 30 feet (6 to 9 meters). They called it Kai Kwai, meaning Sea Devil.

In Chinese, sea monsters are called hai guai(海怪), so some people believe the name Kai Kwai is a miswritten version of this.
