Hissie(ヒッシー) is a fish cryptid reported from the Lake in Hibiya Park, Tokyo, Japan. It has been confirmed that there is more than one of these and there are believed to be as many as six.
Description[]
Image of Hissie's head.
It is a large fish that clearly shows the characteristics of Cypriniformes, with a blackish appearance. Its detailed size is unknown, but it is believed to be over one meter, much larger than a carp in the same pond. Some eyewitness accounts say that it was leading the carp in the pond and acting like a leader.
Sightings and Reports[]
Hissie was featured in the newspaper.
It became famous when it was mentioned on a TV show in 2016, but it is believed that its existence has been known for longer, as a video was uploaded to YouTube on June 10, 2008. Around November 2018, sightings of Hissie ceased and rumors circulated that it had been captured or died, but in fact it was just hibernating.
Explanations[]
It is widely believed that the true identity of Hissie is a black carp, a species native to China. Black carp were once imported for food and released into ponds and rivers in Japan, and they are still present in some areas of the Kanto region.
