The Ghost Deer is a supernatural deer most commonly sighted at Mount Eddy, Northern California.
Description
The ghost deer is a translucent entity typically resembling a large bull elk, itself an unusual animal to be sighted at Mount Eddy, and estimated at 250 pounds if it could take a physical form.
It appears unphased by physical pain, unscathed by traditional hunting weapons and traps; indeed such means pass through the deer entirely.
Its ghostly qualities apparently extend to the ability of phasing in and out of human sight at will.
Origin
Some suggest this cryptid stems from tales of a large elk roaming Mount Eddy that is simply so elusive that hunters, especially those that have claimed to have seen it and failed to hunt it, perpetuate the belief it is indeed a spirit.
