The Genju of Jakushu (若州の幻獣, Phantom Beast of Jakushu) is a reptilian cryptid reported from Fukui, Japan.
Description[]
On May 4, 1791, something fell from the sky in the ocean off the coast of a place called Ōhama (Ōhama). It was a white snake with the texture of six-meter crape crinkles.
The only information that exists for this cryptid is a short record with the name Genju of Jakushu, this description, and a sketch.
In terms of falling from the sky, this can be seen as an example of an elongated Atmospheric Beast, such as the Ittanmomen or Crawfordsville Monster.
