Description[]
According to the Classic of Mountains and Seas, the Fuzhu lived on Ao'an Mountain. The Fuzhu is described as being a white deer with four horns. It is gentle and likes to keep itself clean, and it was said to appear in times of flood.
Explanation[]
One can assume that the Fuzhu was simply a regular albino deer, which the Ancient Chinese considered a bad omen, because of them sighting it after significant floods. The flood connection can be explained with the floods destroying the deer's habitat, forcing it to go outside of its woodland dwelling more, leading to more human encounters with it.
