Fukushima Mothman is a winged cryptid reported from Okuma Town, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.

A person named Marcus Pules claimed to have seen a mothman-like creature near the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Okuma Town in February 2011.
He heard whooshing noises and tremendous screaming one night and saw what appeared to be a shadow. The creature spread its wings, flew 25 to 30 feet high, and flew four or five circles around the plant. No detailed appearance was reported, but Pules reported red eyes that did not blink.
Pules reports that his friend and a couple also saw it, but no report from them is known. The area was hit by an earthquake in March and a nuclear accident, so this could be a malicious hoax created to take advantage of the earthquake and accident commotion. On the other hand, those who believe this story believe that mothman warned of or caused the calamity, as in the Silver Bridge case.
In addition to this case, two other similar cryptids, Echigo Mothman and Kyoto Mothman, have been reported in Japan.
