The Tuyango is a carnivorous swamp bird from Argentinian folklore. The bird has many names from different tribes in Argentina. Although Tuyangos are said to easily kill people, these birds are currently believed to have been hunted to extinction by humans. Tuyango is also called "cannibal bird".

Description[]

A tuyango said to look a lot like a rhea (a South American bird similar to an ostrich, but it has a yellow neck and face, sharper claws and beak. It preys on humans and animals.

Possible Explanations[]

Tuyango cryptid is similar by description to the terror birds who rose to occupy the niche of terrifying top predator in South America – a supremacy that lasted for almost 60 million years. During that time, 17 species in this family of lethal-beaked meatheads came and went, all the while gorging on a smorgasbord of plant-eating mammals until these scary birds disappeared about 2.5 million years ago, but there is a little chance that one of terror bird species survived and evolved.
