False Humans or Fake Humans is a blanket term which can be used for encounters with human-like creatures that seem almost human, but are certainly not real human beings. They are under the category of Mimic.

They are not to be confused with Skin-walkers.

Description[]

Fake humans typically look almost human, and are either nearly identical to human beings, or different in either behavior or small details in terms of their appearance. Fake humans are sometimes said to invoke the feeling of the uncanny valley.

4chan post describing a specific type of fake people

A 4chan post from 2020 described a type of fake people that don't react to any stimuli, shouting or throwing things at them, usually staring up at the sky, neither blinking or breathing, always seen during the night.

Yet another type is said to resemble living mannequins, either without faces or with doll-like features.

Conspiracy Theories[]

Humans that are not human are a common element of conspiracy theories; the idea of most people being "fake" is extremely prominent in conspiracy theories, and such fake humans go by many names, depending on the theory. Such fake people are sometimes also connected to the "targeted individual" phenomenon.

Some theories connect the fake humans to Reptoid Aliens or Grey Aliens, stating that they are the offspring of humans and aliens; others proclaim them to be the offspring of humans and Demons or Nephilim; such explanations are typically found in religious theories.

Some examples of such beliefs include the Polish cults Antrovis (defunct) and Antrovis-descended Jasna Strona Mocy believing in fake people called "Biorobots", and the American black supremacist cult University of Cosmic Intelligence believing that NBA players are synthetic robots. Yet another example might be the controversial Polish Internet figure, Marek Podlecki, who proclaimed that many young people around him were aliens, whom he called "Scabs".

Explanation[]

The idea of some humans being "fake" or not real in one way or another might be caused by undiagnosed paranoid schizophrenia, paranoia, or some other mental or neurological illness.

This is especially the case with conspiracy theorists, as many theorists who proclaim the existence of fake humans living among us, or fake humans being malicious agents of evil Aliens or other dark forces are diagnosed with mental illnesses, usually schizophrenia.

In Popular Culture[]

  • The popular movie They Live from 1988 is based on the concept of most humans being creatures pretending to be humans.
  • Another popular movie featuring fake people is Invasion of the Body Snatchers from 1978.
