Bintaro Yamaguchi, a cryptid researcher, was asked in an interview if there is a cryptid reported from Funabashi City, and he talked about a giant fish. He introduced the story of a giant fish in the Ebi River and said he calls it Ebissie.
The interview did not mention any specific characteristics of the Ebissie, sighting testimonies, or theories about its true identity.
Considering the area where it was reported, it may be a grass carp, which is distributed in China and is an alien species in Japan. The grass carp can be up to 2 meters in length, and grass carp are known to be present in the Ebi River.
