The Dunk Island carcass was a globster that washed up upon the shore of Dunk Island, near the Great Barrier Reef, in 1948.
Description[]
Australian boatmen discovered the creature washed ashore, which they described as appearing to be a large jellyfish but with a tough, hairy side. The side also boasted slits, apparently.
Explanation[]
After experts attempted to identify the creature, they claimed it to be a deformed whale embryo. Attempts were made to burn the embryo but with no avail. Eventually, it was left for the tides to take it away.
