Dragon Skull of Minamisho Village is a strange bone reported from Shiga Prefecture, Japan. It has now been positively identified.
Description[]
In 1804, the bones of a dragon were discovered in Minamisho Village, located on the western shore of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture. An attempt was made to recreate the original skull by combining the bones that had been found in pieces, and a drawing of the dragon skull was made.
It was later discovered that the skull was that of an extinct elephant called Stegodon orientalis.
