The male is known to be very aggressive and will defend its family to its death. The female is very passive and relies on the male for defense. If she sees danger and thinks the danger is too great for her mate, she will run to him and scream in his ear until the male agrees with his mate and both flee to their caves.
At other times, the female is also known to calm the male down by kissing him around the neck if she thinks the male is too aggressive for no reason.
The Cuba was first documented by Samuel Peters in The General History of Conneticut in 1782.
