DescriptionCerberus or Kerberos in Greek and Roman mythology is a bronze multi-headed dog, usually three heads. Often referred too as a Hell Hound with a serpents tail, a mane of snakes and lions claws. It guards the entrance of the underworld to prevent those who entered from ever escaping. Although the depiction of Ceberus often differs and varies they often have the same body and same three heads.
The Twelfth Labor of HeraclesCerberus is most notably known for it's role as the twelfth labor of the legendary Greek hero Heracles. As Heracles' twelfth labor, Heracles was ordered by the king of Tirynis, Eurystheus, to bring back to him Cerberus from the underworld. On his journey Heracles was aided by the Greek god Hermes and the goddess Athena. Once at the gates of Hades, Heracles wrestled Cerberus with nothing but a wooden club. Heracles soon tired the beast and brought it back to Eurystheus. After showing the king, Heracles released Cerberus back to Hades.
