The Bashkortostan Creature is a humanoid creature, possibly an Almas or other apeman or perhaps even a Neanderthal, first seen in a 2016 dashcam video.

Two Russian tourists are said to have captured the video while driving at night in the Republic of Bashkortostan, near the Russian-Kazakhstan border. The video they took depicts an apparently bipedal creature covered in long white hair running across the road in front of the car, soon disappearing into the darkness. The men at first think the animal is a moose, before realizing that it is not something they can identify. As the car gets closer, a trail of disturbed snow can be seen across the road, the car passing it before backing up to get another look.
The remote area the video was taken in (22 miles from the nearest village) and the weather conditions would seem to rule out the possibility of a hoax, while the creature's bipedal stance makes it unlikely to be a known animal. It has been suggested that the creature may have been a poacher trying to avoid being spotted, but this is as yet unconfirmed.
