In the film, a paleontologist and her husband discover a family of Brontosaurus' including a father, a mother and a baby in Africa, and try to protect them from a group of hunters intent on capturing the dinosaurs.
The dinosaurs are based on Mokèlé-mbèmbé and the film even makes reference to the legend in the film by telling how a tribe in the Congo once killed one of these Brontosaurus, ate it, and then got very sick.
