On November 7, 2024, at about 3:20 p.m., a witness with the initials S noticed a strange creature as he passed near an irrigation channel connected to the Asahi River.
It was protruding about 30 cm from the surface of the river at a depth of 40 cm. Its body was black and its body surface was covered with what appeared to be hair or feathers. The square head had no beak, was black on top and yellow or yellow-green on the sides. This creature was moving its head as if to ask to the left or right.
The witness analyzed that what he saw was not a cormorant, a raven, a turtle, or a nutria.
