The Amassie（アマッシー）is a cryptid reported from Ama County, Aichi, Japan.

Makoto Sakuma, a medical scientist and ichthyologist with an interest in cryptids, received a report of a cryptid sighting from a person named Uriko.
Sometime before 1992, when Uriko was in the third grade of elementary school, he or she was looking at a pond in a park in Ama County, Aichi Prefecture, when a strange creature appeared from the bottom of the water. The creature was about 60 cm to 1 meter long, reptile-like, like a smaller crocodile, orange in color with black spots. The creature quickly dove again into the water and disappeared.
This may have been a giant salamander, since this area is the easternmost point of the giant salamander's habitat. It grows to the same size as the Amassie, and some are almost orange.
