Ernest Ingersoll reported sightings of a possibly unknown species of lizard in the Explorers Journal in 1980, around the Air and Tenere Reserves in the north of Niger.
Description[]
The species was about 60 cm long, the animal was endowed with reptilian scales and had a sandy color with dark brown stripes on the body. No further information is available on this purported species, scale fragments, or skeleton. Provided by biologist Tomasz Pietrzak.
