The Aberdeen Wildman is an ape man that was spotted in the 1980s in Aberdeen, Maryland.
Sightings[]
A detailed encounter was written in Frank Bennett's book Encounter with the Aberdeen Wildman: A True Story. He writes that he was living in the Baltimore area in the 1980s and was wandering about the wilderness one winter night. He suddenly stopped dead in his tracks when he saw a figure in the brush in front of him. The figure was partially silhouetted but he could make out the ape-like features of its face. It had bulging eyes that were staring at him intensely. He described it as wearing a clean white dress shirt and blue slacks. When Frank took one step towards it it went wild and began thrashing about and screaming. Suddenly it jumped 10 feet vertically into the air, into the trees above, and continued thrashing and screaming. After that it swung out of sight.
Frank later told one of his friends that lived in the same area as him and they claim they've heard of them before. People in the area had named the creature the Aberdeen Wildman. They investigated the spot where he had seen it, but couldn't find any evidence of the creature. Judging by standing where the creature was, he guessed it was about six feet tall.
